The Project joined hands with Government and Low Income Schools to develop Sports related infrastructure and facilities at grass root level. In addition to the infrastructure the Programme Team of Unity in Action Foundation also procures Sports Equipment and Accessories and conducts distribution drives in School or also at Community Level. These equipments are distributed amongst needy and deserved children who aspire to pursue professional sports. The entire process is focussed on donating equipments/accessories to enhance the accessibility of Sports Equipment at grass root level. The Project is in alignment with existing schemes implemented by Government of India in Sports Development which includes – Khelo India, Fit India Movement.
The project has a special emphasis on adapting an inclusive approach with focus on enabling girls to pursue sports activities at grass root level. At present the project is focusing on develop infrastructure for following sports
- Volley Ball
- Badminton
- Kho – Kho
- Athletics
- Football
The Project aims at achieving following objectives
Unity in Action Foundation extends learning support to its beneficiaries by offering scholarships to meritorious students from low-income families across India, ensuring the continuity of their education. These scholarships are provided to school students up to the secondary level and enable them to pursue courses and training programs in addition to their academic curriculum.
The criteria for selecting candidates are as follows:
- To successfully motivate children as well as their parents towards Professional Sports by enhancing accessibility to Quality Sports Equipment
- To contribute towards the overall sports ecosystem by donating essential sports equipment at grass root level
- To develop sustainable infrastructure at grass root level for aspiring young athletes to pursue sports of their choice
Going forward the Project will also focus on developing training facilities for aspiring athletes and provide sports related fellowships for students from marginalized sections
